Today was our son Porter's baptism and what a wonderful day it was. My father and mother and sister came from Utah. My mother in law and Aunt in law also came from Montana and Arizona. Our adopted grandparents from Edmond OK came as well and it was such a wonderful day. We showed up at church and there were so many people that came that my mother thought there was also someone else being baptized. There were lots of tears shed and testimonies being shared. I had never heard my father's testimony of his baptism experience and he was 25 when he was baptized and I had never known that story of his life. He was in school and his math teacher was a member and my father asked him to baptize him. It was so moving that my mother and sister and I were in tears and we used several puff tissues. It was so wonderful and the spirit was so strong that we couldn't help but cry. Our good friends here in town were there and we had asked our friend Kristen if she could give us a talk and it was so wonderful and I think it helped Porter understand what was going to take place. Grandma Nancy also gave a talk and she shared my father in laws first and last testimony and he said that "I can't speak for the rest of you, but I know this church is right for me." To know that he said those words made it that much more special. To know that this church is true and that all of us are blessed in so many ways, and that our testimony of this church grows daily. I love my boy and I am so very grateful that his father was worthy to baptize him and to confirm him a member of this glorious church. How fortunate we are that we have our little family and we are safe and protected from the many evils of the world. Thankyou all for your prayers and wishes for our special boy on this most blessed of days.

General Conference weekend...YAY!!!
So last weekend was general conference and it was just as good as it always is, but I think this time it was a little different than it usually is. There was much reinforcement of sticking together and become united in our faith and also about finding happiness in all we do. Usually they talk about staying away from this or that and overcoming addictions of all sorts, but this time it felt different. Also the announcement of five new temples, I almost fell over when I heard about the one in Rome Italy. WOW!!!! Anyway, it was great, the kids were good and let me listen and I hope as they were running around playing that they heard some of what was being said.
It is almost our fall break and so we are excited about that, and soon our little Porter is to be baptized and that is very exciting. They grow up so fast and overnight they get this funny little attitude that makes you wonder where the cute little face went. Now it's the turned up nose and the weird little smirk on his face...Hmmm, where did my cute little boy go.
I anticipate life in December when it isn't quite so hectic. Three whole weeks before we start the mayhem again. Oh well, I asked for it. Love to all.

just an fyi...if you watch the video bar at the bottom, only watch the first one. That's the one that means the most to me and it made me cry. I can only hope that when John goes, where ever, that he comes home. I can only pray for so much. I hope that everyone remembers our troops and all that they have done for this country of ours and the people that desire a free tomorrow. WE should all be grateful for OUR free todays, who knows what tomorrow will bring.

what a week
So this week has been rather a busy one. First round of tests and I wanted to do better but the first round is always the hardest. If only...If only...!!! John is out with his Army play group on a field exercise and I hope he has fun. I tell him that he is in a big kids play group and he just laughs at me, he's the oldest so sometimes thats what it feels like. We are all doing great though and hanging in there. Getting stuff done on the house and wishing we had more time and money for things. Busy with just life, what else is there.

My New Blogging Adventure
Well, Because several friends of mine blog, I figured why not, what can I loose. So here I am starting my new blog. I hope that this works and that everything is just as cute as the blogs of my friends. As of today the 11, we are busy with school and that is pretty much our focus. My little Porter boy has started on his Faith in God program with our church and is very excited. He is also getting ready to go into cub scouts and is beyond thrilled about that. We are very pleased that he is so motivated about these things.
Our little Adeline is trying out the potty training bit and we hope she gets it. The sitter she goes to see has offered to help, which we are so grateful for. She enjoys the sitters house and after the first day of mom bawling on the way to class, we are all happy that she enjoys it.
John is busy with his ROTC stuff and his drills every month. His classes require alot more of him than he really wants to put forth but, such is life. He is busy at home on the weekends trying to get our "new" old house in a comfortable state for us. He is such a cheap handyman. A good meal and a clean bed and he is as happy as he can be.
Me, busy with school and kids and chores and whatever else I can manage. I really enjoy my classes, especially my physics class. My teacher is the coolest ever, other than the fact he swears alot(he could care less if he offends) but he puts everything in a perspective that the simple minds(me) can understand. It is fun going to school and being in this part of my life.
I love my family, love my life, wouldn't want it any other way. WE have been BLESSED!!!!!!
